An American Vampire
There is a vampire loose in the Suburbs of
America. It has been sneaking up on hardworking families while their pets and
children run and play in the yard. This vampire often attacks the family where
they feel the safest, just relaxing just at home, at the PTA meeting or
sometimes even during the children’s team sports.
At first as
far as anyone can tell the family is enjoying the good life. They look normal
and content. There is a new car in the driveway a new deck, or maybe they are
having a pool built in their backyard.
They know they work hard and deserve the good life because the vampire told
them so. The friendly vampire has painted an alluring picture of everything
they have been wanting but unable to afford. He has told them that their home
is laden with untapped golden equity that is theirs, so they might as well be
using it.

Just Seven months ago a group of volunteers formed the Kokopelli Board of Directors and gave birth to a wonderful non-profit community benefit project.
The Kokopelli Community Workshop project, was created to open a educational workshop and educational Center in Carlsbad California.
A large adobe complex, located on a acre of land on Adams Street in Old Carlsbad was donated the project, by 84-year old longtime Carlsbad homeowner, Betty Bryan, (Betty is guaranteed lifetime occupancy by the project, in private rooms located adjacent to the main building)
The original eight kokopelli board members included; two college teachers, (one teaches copy writing and one teaches finance) an attorney, and her legal assistant, an editor, a journalist, (that's me) a computer design expert, and a well known holistic health professional, who works successfully with cancer patients.
You may have heard of the kokopelli project; as we have held public fundraisers.
We are called Kokopelli Community Workshop Corporation, and we are lucky to have more than 20, dedicated hard working volunteers.
Volunteers for Kokopelli non-profit organization have committed hundreds of hours of time, money and personal resources to the Kokopelli Workshop Project.
Over the last eight months we have all contributed countless hours of work, time and effort.
Our funding director, Andrea Millon, (who has a degree in grant writing), has submitted over thirty grant proposals on our behalf both for assorted government programs and also to private foundations.

Esther Evans, 22-year-old mother of three young children, had just been shot in the head by police officers when I exited the Tamarack exit of the interstate 5 last Thursday night on my way home. I could plainly see the bullet holes in the passenger side of the SUV, where she had been riding. Esther Evans was airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital where she died.

Greedy materialistic dreams are often promoted by our contemporary
education, television and its myriad commercials, many of our movies, and even
our fascination with competitive sports and winning wars.
Our wish dreams are reflections of what we want, what we think we
want, and they create a path to act on our wishes in the physical world.
