Kokopelli Community Workshop Project Objectives
The purpose of Kokopelli Community Workshop is to
provide groups and individuals in the community with a unique indoor/outdoor
community meeting place, where many different groups can meet for workshops,
projects and discussion groups.
Our group often found it hard to locate a suitable private quiet
place to meet for open discussions, lectures, or to work on our projects
together. We finally formed a non-profit group and determined to fill the need
for a free (support donations are requested but not mandatory)
open to the public by
reservation, workshop center. The workshop
center features
multiple areas with comfortable seating, a community kitchen, plentiful indoor and outdoor workspace, and
flexible project development areas.
Kokopelli
Workshop Center will provide a private environment for any group of up to 40
people to meet for lectures and/or discussions or to develop and work on
projects together.

Kokopelli has also developed specialized workshops
to benefit the community.
Kokopelli Community Workshop has implemented Communiversity
Magazine, an educational magazine that endeavors to explore ideas and
information relevant to community development, and offers a free venue to
present workshop and class information
with optional on-line registration.
The magazine endeavors to offer a place where
members of the community can share their information regarding classes and
workshop opportunities.
Kokopelli Community Workshop has implemented a
special foreclosure help workshop to assist individuals and families whose
homes are at risk of mortgage foreclosure and/or who have mortgage loans about
to enter into an adjustable rate.
Topics explored in the workshop include government assistance
programs, bankruptcy options, forensic loan audits, where to find free HUD
counseling opportunities, how to obtain legal stays against foreclosure, and
most importantly to help those in need to thoroughly review
understand and review the consequences of all potential solutions that may be
taken under consideration, in a non-conflict of interest environment, where
they will not be unfairly taken advantage of.
Kokopelli
Community Workshop is in the development phase of implementing a fully
integrated aquaponic organic farm system ( on the acre of land behind the community center) using the
aqua farm model; Aquaponics is the combination of
recirculation aquaculture (fish farming) and hydroponics (growing plants
without soil).
This model farm will provide an educational organic farm
workshop that will provide an educational model both for water conservation and
healthy organic food production. Foods from the Kokopelli
farm project will donated to partner organizations for
feeding homeless and people in the local community.
